HeyHomeCare connects through AxisCare’s API. Its AI agent answers your caregivers’ calls and texts after hours — the 6 AM call-offs, the missed clock-ins, the schedule questions — and works your agency’s business rules against your AxisCare schedule. It writes back exactly three things, each behind a switch in your business rules, and your on-call manager is always behind it.
AxisCare runs your scheduling, EVV, and back office. What it doesn’t do is answer the phone at 6 AM when a caregiver calls off, or chase the aide whose clock-in never came through. That work still lands on your on-call manager — or on a traditional answering service that takes a message and solves nothing.
HeyHomeCare is the after-hours line that handles it. An AI agent answers caregiver calls and texts, your business rules decide every step that matters, and your on-call manager is always behind it and hears what matters. Everything lands on the record your office reads in the morning.
What it handles for AxisCare agencies:
HeyHomeCare connects through AxisCare’s API with a token your AxisCare admin creates. It keeps its own copy of your AxisCare schedule, with visits and clients refreshed every 15 minutes, so when a caregiver calls, HeyHomeCare already knows who they are, which visit they mean and who else could cover — without waiting on AxisCare mid-call.
What HeyHomeCare reads from AxisCare, and the only three things it writes:
A caregiver calls off at 6 AM. HeyHomeCare checks the visit against your AxisCare schedule and asks your on-call manager first — they reply BLAST or HOLD — unless your business rules start outreach right away. Eligible caregivers are texted in waves, an acceptance waits for on-call’s approval, and with the switch on the visit is reassigned in AxisCare.
The client’s preferred caregivers first, then every caregiver whose availability covers the whole shift — each group at once, best skill matches first. Caregivers blocked for that client, or without the RN or LPN license a visit needs, are never texted.
A visit starts with no clock-in in AxisCare. HeyHomeCare texts the caregiver a clock-in link, then calls, and only after that checks with the client — the caregiver first, always. A “2” (can’t make it) opens a call-off; if the caregiver made it after all, everything reverses.
“What’s my schedule Thursday?” The agent answers from HeyHomeCare’s copy of your AxisCare schedule, only about visits that caregiver is assigned to. A request to swap a shift or take time off goes to the office — nothing changes until the office says so.
Scheduling connections require sales setup, authorized vendor access and validation before calls are forwarded. Nobody on your side writes code.
HeyHomeCare has a self-serve CRM plan from $500/month for up to 50 active caregivers. Larger agencies, after-hours-only service and scheduling integrations: talk to sales.
There are two ways to buy it. Keep your system, add the after-hours line: AxisCare stays your system of record and HeyHomeCare answers after hours. Run your agency on HeyHomeCare: scheduling, EVV, billing and payroll in HeyHomeCare, with an importer that checks your AxisCare data, runs both side by side and switches on the day you choose.
Unlike an answering service, it works your business rules instead of only taking a message. See the after-hours plans.
HeyHomeCare handles caregiver and client PHI, and we treat it that way.
We keep honest, side-by-side comparisons of the platforms AxisCare agencies evaluate. If you’re still deciding:
